When researching All-on-4 or All-on-X in Costa Rica, it is natural to ask, “How many days will I need?” The most useful answer is a treatment schedule built around your case, with clear expectations for what happens during each visit.

The American Dental Association describes implant care as a process that includes placement, healing and the replacement teeth. Timing varies. A temporary restoration and a final restoration can belong to different stages of the same plan.

Begin with a clinical evaluation

Your dentist needs to understand your health, oral condition and goals before confirming the approach. OG Center uses digital planning and an in-house laboratory as part of its care. Ask which examinations or images your own case requires and what can be discussed before arrival.

Your first conversation is also the time to clarify terminology. Are you discussing one arch or both? Does the estimate include the implant surgery, temporary teeth and final teeth? Do all proposed stages appear in the schedule?

Understand the role of temporary teeth

Some implant plans allow replacement teeth at the initial stage; others need a longer interval. Eligibility is a clinical decision. Having a temporary restoration does not necessarily mean that every part of treatment is finished or that you can immediately eat without restrictions.

Ask your dentist what type of restoration is expected at each stage, how it should be cared for and when it will be reviewed. If you have seen an advertisement for “teeth in a day,” ask exactly which part of the process that phrase describes.

Leave room for healing and a return visit

Bone integration takes time and may extend over months. For some patients, final teeth are provided later, which can mean returning to Costa Rica. Other clinical needs can also change the sequence. Your dentist should explain the timing that applies to you rather than fitting your treatment around a vacation deadline.

Ask for a schedule you can actually use

  • First visit: What is planned, and how much time should I reserve?
  • Between stages: What reviews are needed, and where will they happen?
  • Final restoration: When can this stage be confirmed, and what fittings are involved?
  • Travel home: Who confirms when I am ready to fly?
  • If plans change: Which bookings and costs could be affected?

A complete smile makeover can follow a different sequence from full-arch implant treatment. Ask for a plan that names your actual procedures.
