Feeling confident about dental treatment abroad includes knowing what happens after your flight home. Put that conversation on the agenda early, while you are comparing treatment options and planning your visit.

This guide is a checklist for your discussion with OG Center. It does not replace the care instructions your treating dentist gives you.

Agree on follow-up before you travel

Ask which appointments belong to the treatment plan, which require a visit to Costa Rica and whether any reviews can be coordinated remotely. Clarify when you will need local in-person care and how communication with your dentist at home would work.

It helps to separate three questions: who will assess a concern, where an examination can take place and what fees may apply. Do not assume a video call can resolve every problem or that every future visit is included in the original estimate.

Leave with a personal care checklist

Before departing, ask the team to review these points with you:

  • My written instructions for cleaning, eating and caring for the restoration.
  • The follow-up dates already arranged and any dates still to be confirmed.
  • Which symptoms or changes should prompt a call or an in-person review.
  • The clinic’s contact details, response hours and after-hours instructions.
  • Any planned return visit for final teeth or additional treatment.
  • Who to contact if I have a problem while I am back in the United States.

Ask the dentist to demonstrate any cleaning technique or device you do not understand. If a companion is traveling with you, consider having them hear the instructions too.

Keep your treatment information together

Request a treatment summary in English, relevant images and details of the implants and restorations used. Keep these with your instructions and share them with clinicians involved in continuing care. The CDC encourages medical travelers to obtain their records and plan follow-up.

Make recovery part of the itinerary

Follow your own clinician’s guidance about activity, food and travel timing. Ask before adding sightseeing or changing your departure date. If you suspect a complication, seek timely care rather than waiting for an online response. For an emergency, use local emergency services.

Keep the conversation going

For routine questions, contact OG Center through the details provided by the team. Our U.S. phone is +1 (949) 881-7509, and our clinic number is +506 4070-0740. Confirm which channel is appropriate for clinical concerns before leaving the clinic.

Still deciding? Ask about follow-up during your initial consultation. A clear continuing-care plan belongs in your decision from the beginning.
